Fundraisers 101

For the 2005-2006 school year, the cost to send one child to St. Mary's was $4,678.83. A Church family paid a total of $2,450.00 in tuition and registration fees for one child. That leaves a deficit of $2,228.83 for each student that has to be made up by, you guessed it, fundraising! The deficit is even higher per child for students with siblings attending St. Mary's because of the multi-child discount for families. So, as you can see, we depend on those fundraising dollars to keep our tuition rates affordable.

St. Mary's has three major fundraisers throughout the year that are great money makers for our school. You won't be stuck with tubs of cookie dough in your freezer or boxes of candy bars that you just ended up buying yourself, because you never did sell them. The following three fundraisers are the ones that count towards your fundraising commitment of $300.

Every year, St. Mary's Catholic Church sponsors the Calendar Club fundraiser. Funny, we don't really sell any calendars. Although, that's not a bad idea! What we sell are memberships for daily drawings. Each membership is $20 and multiple memberships may be purchased. There are over 130 chances win. Names are drawn every Monday through Thursday for a prize of $40 with a special bonus of $100 on the second through fourth Fridays, and a bonus of $1000 on the first Friday of each month. Memberships go on sale in November. Drawings are held daily from December 1st until the end of the school year.

The Spring Fling is the last chance of the year to fulfill your fundraising commitment. This is a fun filled night of food, drink and auction excitement! Your $100 ticket provides dinner for two, drinks, and is your entry for the raffle. Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, April 5, 2008, and tell your family and friends about it, too!
